If you have recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, this booklet is for you. It will help you, and your family and friends, to understand more about the condition and how it can affect you. 

This booklet covers how you might feel about your diagnosis and suggests ways of managing these feelings. It also has information on the types of support, including treatments, that can help you to live well with dementia.

Don’t worry if you don’t feel ready to read the whole booklet at once – it can be helpful to keep it and refer back to the relevant information as you need it.

You are not alone – around 900,000 people in the UK have dementia. About 520,000 of these people have dementia caused by Alzheimer’s disease. Support is available for you and the people close to you.
