Alzheimer's Society's partnership with Home Retail Group is helping thousands

From the March 2015 issue of our magazine, the results of our two-year partnership with Home Retail Group are funding dementia support workers, Dementia Cafés and Singing for the Brain groups.

Over the past two years, the high street stores Argos, Homebase and Habitat have joined forces with Alzheimer's Society and our sister charities in Scotland and Ireland to tackle dementia.

This partnership with Home Retail Group, which came to an end last month, is helping thousands of people stay in their own homes and live well in the community for as long as possible.

The vital local services funded through the money raised include dementia support workers, who provide specialist advice and support, as well as Dementia Cafés and Singing for the Brain groups.

Home Retail Group has also been championing the Dementia Friends programme, aiming to get 30,000 employees signed up to increase public awareness and improve quality of life for people with dementia and carers.

The Society thanks each and every person who made this partnership such a success. We are awaiting the final fundraising total, so keep an eye out for this.
