Cards for Good Causes is the UK's largest multi-charity Christmas card organisation, managing a national network of around 300 pop-up shops throughout the country. You can find your local store with the Cards for Good Causes store finder.
Alzheimer’s Society will receive at least 70p in every pound from their card sales (less the VAT payable on the amount retained by Cards for Good Causes).
The retained amount covers the costs of running the pop-up shops - the participants pay for the production and distribution of their cards.
Last year we were top of the sales charts for the 5th year running! With sales of £213,000 (£154,000 net contribution); we sold approximately 50,000 packs of 10 in total. Cards for Good Causes is almost entirely run and staffed by volunteers and Alzheimer's Society volunteers are vital to this success.
Could you volunteer with Cards for Good Causes?
Our Card for Good Causes volunteers are a great example of how volunteering can make a real difference to people affected by dementia. If you have a couple of hours to spare and would like to support our work, volunteering with Cards for Good Causes could be for you.
There are two ways to get involved - either by volunteering to sell cards at your local Cards for Good Causes outlet, or by managing a shop (a two to three-month role for which a modest remuneration is paid). The volunteer role ideally requires three hours of commitment one day a week, or once a fortnight. Shops typically open for 8-10 weeks.
