International activity

Almost 50 million people live with dementia worldwide and this is set to treble by 2050.

At Alzheimer’s Society we commit to supporting countries to develop dementia-friendly initiatives, as well as collaborating with other international partners on research and campaigning to help tackle the global dementia challenge.

One in three young people know someone with dementia. As part of our efforts to build a dementia-friendly generation, we have created a brand new animation that raises understanding of dementia, and demonstrates ways that young people can support those they know with the condition to continue living well.

Our international version of the animation can be used to create Dementia Friends around the world, and help reduce the stigma and social isolation that unfortunately exists across the globe.

See if your country has its own Dementia Friends programme by checking out our global Dementia Friends map

If you are in England or Wales then please share our national version of the animation designed for use in schools and youth groups.
