The care system that supports people with dementia is in crisis.
With no cure in sight, good care is the only form of treatment or support available to people with dementia.
But lack of funding means people relying on homecare and care homes too often receive poor quality care. What is more, those relying on Local Authorities are forced to top up from their savings or pensions. Those who pay for care from their own pocket – because they have savings, a house and car worth more than £23,250 - pay inflated bills to cross-subsidise where Local Authorities fall short.
With other conditions, you can get free care on the NHS. But if you have dementia, that’s not the case.
Help us fix this unfair system for people with dementia.
