Find a run

If you want to find a race to take part in, check out event listings on Let's Do This, Run Britain, Find a Race or Run Through. Be sure to secure your place first with the event organiser, then let us know to kick start your fundraising.

Create your own challenge

You don't have to sign up to an official race to get active and raise some money. Create a challenge which you can do in your own time then let us know and we'll be in touch with useful tips and guidance.

Here are some ideas:

  • Join Run for Dementia to take on a challenge in your own time.
  • Run to and from work for a week
  • Run the distance of the English Channel (21 miles)
  • Gather your friends for a 10K in the local park

What you'll get:

  • a free Alzheimer's Society running top
  • a welcome pack with fundraising tips to get your started
  • online fundraising hub with ideas and resources
  • support from our dedicated running team to help you smash your fundraising goals
  • access to a Facebook group where you can get help from other runners
  • training information and access to professional coaches

FAQs

To secure your own entry into a running event, find the event online and apply for an entry directly with the race organiser.  The Find a Race website has a good listings of lots of different runs around the UK.

You can also sign up directly with us for a charity entry where you pledge to raise a set fundraising target for us and we organise your entry to the race for you. See all our charity entries here.

If you've secured your own entry to the race there is no set target, simply raise as much as you can. Be ambitious and remember the more you raise the more people affected by dementia we can help.

If you're setting up a JustGiving page people are more likely to donate if you have a target amount to raise shown on your page.

Let us know about your event using our quick form and we'll post out your top. Your top should arrive within 3 weeks of signing up.

If it hasn't arrived and its been more than 3 weeks please email [email protected] with your size (xs/s/m/l/xl).

The easiest way to pay in your fundraising is to make a donation onto your online fundraising page.

If you'd prefer to make a donation over the phone or post a cheque download our paying in form for more information.

Of course! We'd love your friends and family to join in on the challenge.

How your money helps

£300 means over 1,800 people can access Talking Point, our online forum. Here people can learn from each other experiences, share their frustrations and their knowledge of local services.

£95 provides a telephone-based Dementia Adviser for a full day. Providing essential support to those affected by dementia.

£15 turns four ordinary citizens into superhero Dementia Friends! There is a stigma attached to living with dementia and Dementia Friends facilitates societal change, helping people understand the impact on people’s lives
