Explore historic landscape dominated by the world-famous stone circle of Stonehenge. Take on the challenge surrounded by people who are trekking for loved ones, and raise money so together we can find a cure.

Where and when?
The 26 mile route will start and finish at Hudson's Field, Salisbury (next to Salisbury Rugby Club, SP1 3SA). The 13 mile route starts at South Newton & Great Wishford Village Hall, Warminster Road, SP2 0PJ and ends at Hudson's Field.
The 13 mile route start times are: 10.30am and 11.00am.
The 26 mile route start times are: 7.30am and 8.00am.
You can choose your start time when you sign up.
Registrations for this trek will close at midnight on Friday 28 August 2020.
Our marathon route starts to the north of Salisbury, and we walk past the magnificent 13th-century cathedral, home of the tallest spire in the UK. We continue over water meadows, high ridges and quiet woodland, our paths following medieval trading routes much of the time.
Our half marathon option will join the group in the picturesque village of Great Wishford and together we will enjoy the fabulous views of Stonehenge, before circling south and tackling the undulating chalk ridges and quiet valleys back to Old Sarum.

How much do I have to raise?

How do I claim my trekking top and when will I receive it?
We’ll send you out a free trekking top if you smash your fundraising target a month before your trek. You don't need to get in touch to claim it - as long as you have hit your target on your JustGiving page or paid in cash donations, we'll send out your top automatically.
If you are fundraising in a team, please let us know by creating a team when you sign up so we can make sure you all receive your tops.
Can I fundraise in a team?
Of course! Please let us know when you sign up by creating a team. Your team members can then join you by clicking on the ‘find’ button and typing in either the team captain’s name or your team name.
Your fundraising target is still £200 per person for the 13 mile route or £300 per person for the 26 mile route, but you're welcome to combine your targets into one team total.
Where do we meet?
The start and finish point is located at Hudson's Field, Salisbury (next to Salisbury Rugby Club, SP1 3SA), as the route is circular. The 13 mile route starts elsewhere, but you can park at the nearby Beehive Park and Ride (SP4 6BT) and we'll transfer you to the start line.
What will the terrain be like?
We trek mainly on grass paths or gravel tracks, but also on some quiet roads, with road crossings. Some sections may be muddy. There are some hills, though the majority of the route is flat or gently undulating.
What will I be eating?
Breakfast, lunch and lots of snacks are provided as well as water and hot drinks at the start and finish area, rest stops and lunch stop. If you have any dietary requirements, just let us know when you sign up.
What support will there be along the route?
We'll have trek leaders spread along the route, and doctors at the back of the group. The route will be well-marked with brightly coloured marker arrows and there will be extra marshals at any sections that are less straightforward.
There'll also be manned rest stops along the route – usually one in the morning, one in the afternoon, plus a lunch stop. We’ll be on hand to provide help and plenty of encouragement and there will be first aid support, as well as toilets.
What are the toilet facilities?
There will be facilities at the event hub (where you start and finish) and most planned rest-stops along the route.
How long will it take?
This event is not a race; everyone should be able to walk at a comfortable pace. In order for the event to be managed safely, there will be a cut-off time.
The full marathon should take approximately 9-10 hours but can take some walkers up to 12 hours.
Is there an age limit?
The minimum age limit for the Trek26 series is 14. All participants must be at least 14 on event day.
If you're under 16 you'll need an adult to take part with you, who also needs to sign up online.
How fit do I need to be?
The route is designed to be challenging but is achievable for most people provided you train well in advance. When you sign up we’ll email you a training guide to help you prepare.
What will I need to carry?
You will need to be able to carry all essential kit required for the challenge e.g waterproofs, layers, water, sun cream, snacks. Check the kist list to be sure of everything you will need.
Make sure you have trained with your backpack, carrying everything you need, so that you are used to trekking with your pack at full weight.
What if the weather is bad?
We carry on! Do make sure you check the kit list and come prepared for all types of weather.
Can a friend who isn’t signed up walk with me?
No, we’re afraid not, everyone taking part needs to be fully registered and fundraising to beat dementia.
Can I bring my dog?
No. We cannot be responsible for their welfare and landowners often ask us not to bring dogs onto their lands, which we must respect.
Can I run?
No, we’re afraid not.
Not a trekker? You can still do something incredible and make a difference to people affected by dementia.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to cheer our trekkers over the finish line. We'll kit you out with an Alzheimer's Society t-shirt and provide you with everything you need to give our trekkers an amazing event day experience.
You'll help to set them on their way to raising even more money to change the lives of people affected by dementia. And we can guarantee you'll have a great time!
