Why do it?
A sponsored quit, challenge or even a dramatic hair cut is a great way to test yourself and raise much-needed funds to support people affected by dementia.
Remember, this is your personal challenge, so you decide how to test yourself. From giving up booze and favourite foods, to kicking a habit, fancy dress or growing a beard – there’s almost no limit to the ways you can choose to raise money.
Whatever challenge you take on, your fundraising will help us to continue our vital work to support people living with dementia and those who care for them.
Top tips for taking on a personal challenge
- Create a JustGiving page. Not only is this a great way to make sure people are aware of your event, it will also take care collecting sponsorship money safely and securely.
- Set the challenge. What are you going to do and how long for? A month, a year... forever? Remember to be realistic with your goal!
- Spread the word. Social media site likes Facebook and Twitter are great for telling people about your challenge and sharing your Justgiving page. Losing weight, shaving your hair or quitting a bad habit is no easy thing, be sure to shout about it!
- Take pictures! Update your supporters while at the same time showing off your results. People who donate will love to see how you're getting on.
Note: Before you start any weight loss programme, talk to a medical practitioner first and remember to always stay healthy and safe.
