International Activity

We commit to supporting countries to develop dementia-friendly initiatives, collaborating with other international partners on research and campaigning to help tackle the global dementia challenge.

We co-founded the Global Alzheimer's and Dementia Action Alliance (GADAA), which works to engage a broad spectrum of international civil society organisations to recognise the part they can play in global action on dementia.
Alzheimer’s Society reserves its funding for research carried out in the UK. However, we increasingly work with international partners and other Alzheimer’s associations to support global initiatives and strengthen the impact and reach of our work.
We're a member of the international federation of Alzheimer associations around the world. Learn more about the WHO Global Action Plan, the G8 summit on dementia and the importance of international collaboration.
Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia in England and Wales.
