Trustee Recruitment 2012
Help us lead the fight against dementia
Trustees (Unremunerated)

Did you know that Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia now affect around 800,000 people in the UK? Or that this number is set to rise to 1,000,000 within the next ten years?
These simple facts explain why the work of Alzheimer's Society is so important. Through our network of local services, we touch the lives of over 30,000 people every week. But that's just the start. We are also influencing health and social care systems, investing in far-reaching research, fighting for faster diagnosis and better treatment, and keeping dementia in the spotlight by raising public awareness.
So join our team of Trustees and you will enjoy a role of unusual variety, influence and satisfaction.
Right now we are looking to fill a number of Trustee posts. Some, with specialist skills, may be appointed. Others will be elected (or re-elected) by our members. In all cases, we are searching for forward-thinking individuals with strong empathy with our vision and values. With your senior-level experience in the public, private or voluntary sector, you will certainly have the confidence and breadth of vision to contribute to the discussion of complex issues, challenge received wisdom and resolve difficult choices as a collegiate Board member. You should be able to devote 1-2 days per month to the role.
If you'd like to play your part in shaping the Society and formulating and implementing its strategy in a fast-changing world, we'd like to hear from you.
