Enduring power of attorney and lasting powers of attorney

If you lose mental capacity because of dementia, you will need someone else to manage your legal, financial and health affairs.

The Mental Capacity Act 2005, which came into force in 2007, introduced lasting powers of attorney and repealed enduring power of attorney legislation. For more information see:
