Attendance allowance

Attendance allowance is a benefit to help people to deal with the practical effects of disability. People with dementia who are over 65 can claim attendance allowance. If they are under 65, they should claim disability living allowance instead.

Getting these benefits is not guaranteed as it will depend on the level of care or supervision that the person needs to help them with daily tasks.
