Day Support Worker (South Tyneside)

£12,250 per annum, 26 hours per week

Six month fixed contract with possibility of extension

We are looking for a Day Support Worker to assist in all operational aspects of the day support service.  Day support is sometimes called 'day services' or 'day care' and involves providing formally arranged support for a group of people with dementia in a safe and secure environment using trained staff (and volunteers).

You will contribute to the high quality and appropriate care, support and activities to the standards required by the Society as well as promoting and maintaining a good standard of care practices within the day centre.  You will assist clients with activities, lunch and personal care as well as acting as an escort on transport provided by us.  You should possess NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent), or be willing to work towards it.  

A satisfactory disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau will be required for this post.
