Where will I be volunteering?

What will I be doing?
Volunteer befrienders support people with dementia in the local community. After training volunteers are paired with a person with early stage dementia to offer companionship and support to enable them to take part in social and recreational activities. No qualifications are needed but volunteers will need to be patient, friendly and have an understanding of dementia and how it affects individuals.
How much time will I have to commit?
Volunteer befrienders are expected to make regular visits so ideally 1-2 hours per week
