Volunteer: Befriender, Hastings and Rother Area

What will I be doing?

Volunteer Befrienders support people with dementia in the local community. This usually involves visiting the person in their home and providing friendship.

We are looking for patient, understanding people with good communication skills. Your involvement will provide companionship and help to reduce the isolation so often experienced by people with dementia.

Where will I be volunteering?

This role is based in the Hastings, St Leonard's, Bexhill and Rye area.

How much time do you expect me to commit?

This is a flexible role, but we hope that you will be able to offer a couple of hours each week or fortnight and provide some continuity over a number of months. Some extra time will be required to undertake induction and training.

How do I apply for this opportunity or find out more?

Please email volssussex@alzheimers.org.uk or telephone 01403 213015 to request an application pack or for more information about the role.
