Volunteer: Campaign Group Leader - Kent

Where is it you want me to volunteer?

We are establishing a new group for Kent and Medway to raise awareness of dementia and achieve a fairer deal for all those affected by the condition.

 

What will I be doing?

We are looking for someone to:

  • Organise and lead a group of volunteers 
  • Support the delivery of national campaigns at local level
  • Carry out a wide range of campaigning activities. This will depend on individual interests and could include tasks such as writing letters, drafting press releases, attending events or arranging meetings to further local campaigning activity
  • Communicate / engage with the general public, health professionals, MP's, councillors, Primary Care Trusts and partner organisations.
  • Distribute campaigning material

  What skills do I need?

We are looking for someone who is committed, driven and has good communication skills. Confidence and experience in managing people and/or projects is also desirable.

  How much time do you expect me to commit?

This role is flexible, but ideally a few hours a week.  You will also need to be in contact with other group members and be available for monthly meetings with local staff (during working hours) and volunteers.
