Volunteer: Befriender, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale area
We have befriending opportunities across all areas of Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale.
What will I be doing?
You will be providing companionship and support to a person in the early stages of dementia, enabling them to continue to enjoy a hobby or interest, and helping them to take part in social and recreational activities in the local community.
Your support will help to significantly improve their well-being, whilst reducing the risk of isolation so often experienced by people living with dementia.
We offer an excellent package of training and support.
How much time do you expect me to commit?
Ideally 2-3 hours, either weekly or fortnightly. This opportunity can take place outside of normal working hours.
