Volunteer: Befriender - Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire & Wrexham (Various locations across North Wales)
How will this role make a difference?
Volunteer befrienders offer support and companionship to people in the early stages of dementia, helping them take part in social and recreational activities. Your support will help to significantly improve the well-being of people living with dementia, whilst reducing their risk of isolation.
How much time will I need to give?
Following training, we hope that you will be able to offer 2 or 3 hours each week and provide some continuity over a number of months.
What support do I get and what experience is required?
Alzheimer's is committed to supporting volunteers in whichever role is carried out. For this role you will be supported by the Befriending Manager. No special qualifications or experience are needed. This role requires a Criminal Records Bureau check.
