Volunteer: Support Services, Occasional Support, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Where is it you want me to volunteer?
We are planning to set up a bank of people that only have a small amount of time to give who would be prepared to help assist in our support groups or office on an ad-hoc basis to cover holidays and sickness in the Cambridge area.
What will I be doing?
We are looking for people who are welcoming, compassionate, committed, driven and have good communication skills. We can match your role to suit your abilities, preferences and any additional skills you might have by helping to :-
- Support the delivery of national campaigns at local level.
- Welcoming people with dementia and their carers to our support groups.
- Help staff to provide information and serve refreshments.
- Engage in supportive discussions and conversations.
- Help with social activities e.g. Art, Reading,
- Distributing campaigning material.
How much time do you expect me to commit?
These roles are flexible, but ideally a few hours when required. You will need to be in contact with your group leader.
