Volunteer: Befriender, Knowsley
Where is it you want me to volunteer?
The Society has various opportunities available throughout Knowsley.
What will I be doing?
Volunteer befrienders support people living with dementia in the local community. This involves companionship for a person in the early stages of dementia, helping them to take part in social and recreational activities. Your support will help to significantly improve their well-being whilst reducing the risk of isolation so often experienced by people living with dementia. We recognise that people have busy and diverse lives, so we offer a good package of support, supervision, training and reimbursed agreed expenses.
How much time do you expect me to commit?
Ideally 2-3 hours on a regular basis. This opportunity can take place outside of normal working hours.
To apply for this opportunity, please email volsmerseysideiom@alzheimers.org.uk or call Tess on 01925 572 256.
Alzheimer's Society is an equal opportunities employer.
