Volunteer One to One Befriender

Volunteer One to One Befrienders support people with dementia in the local community. The role is to offer informal support by providing a social contact to reduce social isolation for the person with dementia.

Where is it you want me to volunteer?

Newport.

What will I be doing?

To provide a befriending support to a person who lives with dementia, in their own homes or to attend social/recreational activities in the community on a one to one basis. Activities could include shopping, art, conversation, going for a walk.

How much time do you expect me to commit?

About two to three hours a week. Induction, training and ongoing support and supervision is provided.
