Volunteer: Campaign Group Member, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Where is it you want me to volunteer?

We are planning to set up a new group covering the Cambridge area to raise awareness of dementia and achieve a fairer deal for people with dementia and their carers.

What will I be doing?

We are looking for people who are committed, driven and have good communication skills.  We can match your role to suit your abilities, preferences and any additional skills you might have by helping to :-

  • Supporting the delivery of national campaigns at local level.
  • Carrying out a wide range of campaigning activities depending on interests, e.g.writing letters and press releases, attending events or arranging meetings to further local campaigning activity.
  • Communicating / engaging with external stakeholders such as the general public, health professionals, MP's, councillors, Primary Care Trusts and partner organisations.
  • Distributing campaigning material.

 

How much time do you expect me to commit?

This role is flexible but ideally a few hours a month.  You will need to be in contact with your group leader and be available for monthly meetings.
