Volunteer: Day Centre Supporter, Northallerton
Where is it you want me to volunteer?
The Alzheimer's Society Day Centre is on Castle Close, Northallerton, DL7 8DN. The centre staff would like someone who can give some time on Fridays.
What will I be doing?
You will be supporting staff and encouraging people with dementia to participate in day activities, ensuring that group participants feel comfortable and included. This role involves:
- Listening and talking to people with dementia and their carers in a sensitive and supportive way
- Assisting with the serving of refreshments
- Joining in with social activities such as board games, arts and crafts, that benefit the individual or group
How much time do you expect me to commit?
2-3 hours per week
