Volunteer: Singing for the Brain Support, Thornbury

Where is it you want me to volunteer?

St Mary's Church Hall, Eastbury Road, Thornbury BS35 1DR

What will I be doing?

Singing for the Brain is an innovative project providing musical (and also movement in some cases) stimulation for people with dementia (and the carers who are in attendance). It offers the chance for social interaction in a safe and supportive environment. Your involvement will help to improve well being and help to reduce the isolation so often experienced by people with dementia and their carers.

Examples of the tasks involved are: helping set out the room in an agreed layout, making and distributing beverages and biscuits and chatting to clients and their carers.

How much time do you expect me to commit?

The group meets every other Wednesday 1:30pm - 3:30pm, ideally volunteers will be able to attend sessions on a regular basis.
