Volunteer Befriender - Northamptonshire

Volunteer Befrienders support people with early-stage dementia or the carers for people living with dementia, to participate in a range of activities or hobbies. We currently have people enjoying golf, gardening, shopping, museum visits or recreational activities in the home.  The list is endless.

What will I be doing?

  • Visiting a person with dementia or a carer of a person living with dementia on a regular basis.
  • Participating in social, recreational and daily living activities.
  • Building trust and companionship to enable the person with dementia or a carer for a person living with dementia by providing companionship and to engage with activities in the community.

Where will I be volunteering?

This role is based in a wide variety of locations across Northamptonshire.

How much time do you expect me to commit?

This is a flexible role, but we hope you would be able to offer a few hours each a week or fortnight (between 9:00am - 5:00pm). Please note we do ask for a minimum of six months commitment for this role.

How do I apply for this opportunity and find out more?
