Howz that! Alzheimer's Society seeks cricket stars for TV tournament

Star Cricket Television, a special cricket channel watched around the world, will televise the sizzling summer tournament. The winning club will walk away with £1, 000 and the £30 entry fee will help to support the Alzheimer's Society, the UK's leading charity for dementia care and research.

Star Cricket television, is the sister site to astrologer Russell Grant's new online TV channel, Star TV.

Russell Grant, an ambassador for the Alzheimer's Society, says,

'The Sportswise UK20's competition is a must for any clubs wanting to showcase their talent, have some fun and catch some sunshine this summer. Thanks to Star Cricket Television, matches will be available to watch and re-watch at anytime and clubs will be able to submit content to the channel throughout the summer.

There will be opportunities for players to show their skills as presenters, directors and cameramen, and even attend a Performing Arts and Television Workshop in Snowdonia in August to hone their skills. It promises to be the most watched sporting event of the year and a must for all fans and players.'

Neil Hunt, chief executive of the Alzheimer's Society says,

'The £30 entry fee for clubs will help to support Alzheimer's Society, the leading care and research organisation for people with dementia and carers. Cricket is also a great way to reduce your risk of dementia while having fun this summer, so why not take up the challenge?'

Community matches will take place through May, June and July or cricket clubs can hold their own play offs to see which star team advances to the regional play-offs. Regional rounds will be in August and champions will be invited to take place part in the final in Uxbridge on 16 September 2007.
