Alzheimer’s Society comment on rights of people living with dementia

Published 29 April 2009

While we cannot comment on the specifics of this case we do hear regularly from people who are worried that the quality of care in care homes is not meeting high enough standards.

'Conversely, people aren't receiving enough support to empower them to live a full life at home and in the community. The Government must deliver its promised measures to help people with dementia remain in the community longer.

Above all any issue concerning the rights of a person with dementia must have their best interests at heart.'
