Tony Robinson says, 'Try the Triathlon for Alzheimer's'

Published 3 July 2003

It's not too late to get a place in the London Triathlon', says Time Team Big Dig's Tony Robinson.

As a one-off, the Alzheimer's Society are offering a limited number of their guaranteed places at a hugely discounted rate.

The London Triathlon takes place on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August at the Royal Albert Dock. Participants compete at the Olympic distance (1,500m swim, 40km cycle, 10km race) or the shorter sprint distance (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km race). You can also enter as a team of three.

Interested members of the public are invited to apply for one of the charity's guaranteed places, which are on offer for a registration fee of £45, and are asked to raise £375 in sponsorship (instead of the advertised £500).

Tony says, 'Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to enjoy an exhilarating sporting experience, and raise vital funds for a worthwhile cause'.

The Alzheimer's Society provides support to carers, information services and quality home and day care. We also campaign and raise awareness, fund research into cause, cure and care, plus we run both a community-based network of over 250 UK branches and support groups and a national telephone helpline. We are entirely dependent on voluntary donations.
