Apprentice-Style Challenge for Property Professionals

Published 7 July 2008

An apprentice style challenge will take the property world by storm as North London takes on South London to drum up funds for people with dementia and their carers on Tuesday 8 July.

Jones Lang LaSalle logoJones Lang LaSalle staff at Clapham Junction and Finsbury Park tube stations will compete to get public support for the Alzheimer's Society's Dementia Awareness Week (6-12 July).

Jones Lang LaSalle, the global real estate firm, voted the Alzheimer's Society to be its charity of the year. A triathlon, dress down day and a 10k run in Manchester are part of many initiatives through which the company will be raising funds to help provide essential care, advice and support to people with dementia and their carers during 2008.

Neil Hunt, Chief Executive of Alzheimer's Society, says,
'As a charity the Alzheimer's Society depends on the generously of people like Jones Lang LaSalle staff to help care, research and campaign for people with dementia. I'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone taking part in this challenge.

If we live to over 65, one in three of us will die with dementia. We are encouraging everyone to be headstrong and get active for Dementia Awareness Week and reduce their risk of this devastating condition'
Andy Mottram, Head of the English Business at Jones Lang LaSalle, says,
'Jones Lang LaSalle is eager to work towards raising funds in support of the Alzheimer's Society, our chosen charity for 2008. Dementia is a devastating condition that steals the quality of life from so many people which is why the firm is dedicated to positively contributing to this charity.

Dementia Awareness Week is a great chance to generate support for this important cause. By raising awareness we hope to support the Alzheimer's Society in building the foundations of a brighter future for the millions of families affected by dementia.'
A new booklet 'Be Headstrong' with top tips on how to reduce your risk of dementia is available today from local branches of the Alzheimer's Society or from www.challengedementia.org.uk.
