On Saturday 21 May Northampton Town Football Club are staging the Roly Mills Memorial Match sponsored by Dalepak in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.
The Roly Mills Memorial Match will feature a Northampton Town eleven featuring past and present Cobblers players against ex professional players and celebrities including recently confirmed name Steve Staunton (former player for Liverpool and Aston Villa).
Former English football coach, Manager and Alzheimer's Society Ambassador, Lawrie McMenemy said:
Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive at Alzheimer's Society, said:'I've experienced a loved one with dementia as my mother-in-law had the condition before she sadly died in March this year. It's a devastating illness that is heartbreaking to go through. That's why the Roly Mills Memorial Match is so important in supporting the work of the Alzheimer's Society. Without the dedication and hard work of those who volunteer and fundraise the Society wouldn't exist.'
'We are delighted that The Roly Mills Family and supporters are giving their time to support Alzheimer's Society. One in three people over 65 will die with dementia. It is more than just memory loss; it robs people of their lives and has a devastating impact on families and loved ones.
