London to Paris in 24 hours

Published 21 January 2011

Barry Jordan has recently completed his 24 hour, 320 mile static bike ride to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.

Barry Jordan, who is taking part in this year's London to Paris challenge, recently cycled the entire 320 miles of the popular route on a static bike, non-stop in 24 hours at Blair Park care home in Sittingbourne, Kent.

Barry decided to undertake this challenge in order to raise vital funds for research, as his Aunt Gwen has dementia and as a result now resides in Blair Park where the challenge was completed.

His successful attempt was covered by the local press and took place on 4  January, with the owner of the care home making a generous contribution of £250.

Speaking after the event Barry said:

'The care home staff were marvellous in not only keeping me going with numerous cups of tea and snacks but by also donating an extra £54.85, along with visiting families, - amazing when you consider what the staff get paid.'
