Celebrity supporters show their support for us during the festive period

Published 6 January 2011

Ruth Langsford

The festive period was a busy one for our celebrity supporters as they showed their support for Alzheimer's Society.

Society ambassador, Ruth Langsford, proved a big hit on the Christmas Day special of game show All Star Family Fortunes.

Along with her This Morning colleagues, Jason Gardiner, Paul Ross, Alison Hammond and Sharon Marshall, Ruth beat an Emmerdale cast to the £30,000 prize, which they donated to Alzheimer's Society and Help for Heroes.

You catch Ruth and the This Morning team scoop the £30,000 on ITV player (for a limited time only)

Ruth wasn't the only one of our celebrity supporters to put her general knowledge under the microscope.

Former Emmerdale and Where the Heart Is actress, Sam Giles, took part in Celebrity Mastermind, donating her fee to Alzheimer's Society.

Sam, whose specialist subject was the films of Alfred Hitchcock, finished with a commendable score of 23.

Fresh from her experiences in the jungle, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star Britt Ekland, was on hand to welcome a group of Society supporters to her festive panto performance at Southsea's King's Theatre.

The Hollywood legend, a patron of the Society, greeted the supporters backstage before her performance in Jack and the Bean Stalk where she starred as the Fairy Godmother.

We also have comedian Syd Little from the popular comedy duo Little & Large taking part in Celebrity Cash in the Attic on BBC One on Tuesday, 11 January at 2.15pm.

Syd will be donating the money raised to Alzheimer's Society so be sure to tune in and see how much he can raise for people with dementia and their carers.

Big thank you to all our celebrity supporters and here is to a great 2011!
