Your memories light up Alzheimer’s Society head office
Published 23 December 2010
Hundreds of stars have gone on display at Alzheimer’s Society’s head office at Devon House in memory of loved ones.
Supporters, members and staff, were encouraged to send in the stars along with their special memories of a loved one or absent friend.
More than 500 stars have now gone on display on a Christmas tree in the main reception and on strings around the main staff canteen. All those who returned the stars also made a donation in memory of a loved one which will help fund research and provide vital services for people living with dementia, their families, and their carers.
Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive of Alzheimer's Society said;
'We are overwhelmed at the amount of stars we have received. Initially we thought we would only get enough to decorate the tree but we have now put hundreds more all around the office.
'They have really helped to bring new meaning to the office and we are proud to display the cherished memories of our supporters, members and staff. I would like to thank all those who took the time to send them in and make a donation at the same time.

'Christmas can be a particularly hard time of year for those who have lost a loved one and these stars show how important it is to remember those who are no longer with us.'
