Nick Thorpe aims for no 52 Christmas chart flop

Most artists aim to have one Christmas number one in their career but intrepid fundraiser Nick Thorpe is aiming low this year in his bid to do 52 unique things for Alzheimer's Society.
The single and video for "Christmas Day TV" was released this week after a member of the public challenged him to write, perform and record a Christmas single. Nick is aiming to get the single into the Christmas charts at number 52.
Nick says, 'We're not out to take on the might of the reality TV shows and resurgent hits from the past, in fact I'd be devastated if we hit the Top Ten. Number 52 is in keeping with the theme of the project and pretty achievable, providing this doesn't go viral of course ...'
Nick decided to write the song about his memories of Christmas as a kid in the 1980s and also features contributions from his Twitter followers who he invited to share their memories. Musicians were also sourced from Twitter and the single features violin player Declan Daly, singer-songwriter Lizzyspit and professional musician Joe Lee. The song comes as the final stage of Nick Thorpe's mission to do 52 new things to raise money for Alzheimer's Society. During the course of this year he has also taken Viagra, learnt Arabic and has even had a 'back, sack and crack' wax.
The single is available to buy on iTunes and Amazon from today.
