Theo writes his first bestseller to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society

Ten year old Theo Youds has written 'The Zombie Heart' to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society in memory of his Grandpa Roy.
Enterprising Theo has not only penned the thrilling action adventure, but has also managed to get the book on sale in his local branch of Waterstones. Bulpitt Printers in Andover agreed to print the book for him free of charge so that every penny Theo raises can be donated to Alzheimer's Society, whilst another Andover business, Simply Health, has pledged to match all the money raised.
A JustGiving page has been set up to promote the book and Theo is well on course to achieve his target of raising £200. Theo said:
'A big thank you to everyone that has helped me with this. The book is aimed at boys and girls aged nine to twelve and is a great action packed story.'
The proceeds of the book will help Alzheimer's Society fund research and provide vital services to support people with dementia and those who care for them. Theo's creativity grabbed the attention of Alzheimer's Society staff in the fundraising team and a copy of The Zombie Heart is already doing the rounds at central office.
Nick Scott, events fundraising assistant at Alzheimer's Society, said:
'I see so many inspiring fundraising ideas but Theo's book The Zombie Heart has to be my favourite. As soon as I saw his JustGiving page I made a donation and ordered a copy. I think it is an amazing achievement that a ten year old boy has managed to write a book and get it published, but to combine that with fundraising for Alzheimer's Society shows fantastic awareness and determination. Everyone in my family below the age of 14 will be getting a fantastic Christmas present. Well done Theo!'
