Alzheimer's Society Northern Ireland Flagship Memory Walk 2010
Published 12 October 2010
This year Northern Ireland Flagship Memory Walk in the Ormeau Park was bigger and better than ever. We had over 300 walkers of all ages raising money for local services.
Walkers enjoyed a full day of entertainment including a superb vintage afternoon tea party in the gorgeous 'walled garden' of the pavilion, ice cream served from a vintage ice cream tricycle, a beautiful vintage fashion show, song and dance performances, vintage car show, fire engines, old school games organised by the students of BRA, face painting, vintage children's carousel, a Punch and Judy show and magic show. A fun packed day was had by all.
Thank you to everyone who made this year's NI Flagship Memory Walk possible, including all the walkers and all the volunteers who helped in the lead up and on the day. It would not have been possible to run this event without their generous support.
We have raised over £13,000 so far with sponsorship still coming in. This is a fantastic result for our second year. We will continue, with your help, to build on the event's growing success to make next year's even better.
