Australian singer and Alzheimer’s Society supporter, Chloe Hall will be hitting the high notes at this year’s London Memory Walk.
Chloe began her musical career as a teenager following the Australian folk circuit and graduated to touring for years in Australia and North America. Her music is a fusion of Sixties style and modern sound.
Portmeiron, Wales, was the setting for a recent Alzheimer's Society concert that Chloe performed at with Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel and Show of Hands. She will now showcase her cutting edge folk music for Memory Walk, London, Alzheimer's Society's flagship annual event.
The London event, sponsored by healthcare provider Simplyhealth, will take place on Sunday 26 September at the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park, Lambeth, and participants can choose to complete distances of 2.5, 6 or 10 miles.
Chloe is no stranger to dementia as she has worked with Alzheimer's Society in her native Australia and has even written a song based on her experience working alongside a carer.
Chloe says,
This year, the Memory Walk Team is hoping to recruit at least 500 walkers and generate even more than the £34,000 raised at last year's event. Flamenco dancers, various stalls and fun activities are just some of the entertainment on offer to families at the walk.'It's a great honour to be performing at this year's walk and I hope that people will come out in force to support this event and help Alzheimer's Society raise vital funds to fight dementia.
'This is a condition that is likely to affect many people as they get older and I believe that Memory Walk can go a long way to creating more awareness and understanding about dementia.'
