David Wilson Homes South West embark on a fundraising challenge for Alzheimer's Society

Published 2 September 2010

David Wilson Homes South West have set themselves the challenge of raising £5,000 for Alzheimer's Society.

They started raising money for the Society in May 2010 and have already raised over 70% of their target.

A group of sixteen David Wilson Homes South West staff/partners and friends embarked on a four day trek to conquer Hadrian's Wall from 3 to 6 September 2010 walking coast to coast from Newcastle to Bowness on Solway.

To get some 'mile in his legs' one of the team decided to walk to work one day. After an 18 mile round trip, day at work, shin splints and dehydration he finally made it home - via a chocolate stop at the co-op! It took him 2.5hrs to get in a weary 3.5 hours to get home - 15 minutes of that was queuing to get the chocolate! He is now trying to persuade the rest of the team to join him next time.

Alzheimer's Society would like to thank David Wilson Homes South West for their continued support towards our fight against dementia.
