Alzheimer's Society supporter Robbie Savage suggests he may quit Twitter

Published 10 August 2010

Alzheimer’s Society supporter Robbie Savage has suggested he may quit Twitter after receiving abuse at his father who has Pick’s disease.

Alzheimer's Society comment:

'Dementia affects 750,000 people in the UK and the number is rising every day. Insensitive comments only serve to offend those dealing with this devastating condition. We must tackle the stigma surrounding dementia if we are to ensure people are treated with the dignity they deserve.'

'We are hugely grateful to Robbie and his family for their generous support. By sharing their story they are helping to eradicate the misunderstanding that surrounds dementia. Proceeds from his autobiography will support thousands of people to live a better life with dementia today and find a cure for tomorrow.'
