Adventurous fundraiser Nick Thorpe tries out 52 new things to raise money for Alzheimer's Society

Published 6 August 2010

Nick Thorpe decided to make 2010 a year to remember by trying 52 new things whilst raising money for us.

So far Nick has attempted 29 new things including growing a beard, making something useful out of wood and eating the hottest curry possible! For the full list and to make suggestions to Nick directly visit his website www.52newthings.co.uk

'The 52 New Things project started out as a way of making my life a bit more interesting and has now grown into a life-altering journey full of incredible experiences and amazing people.

However I am always conscious of how lucky I am to be able to enjoy all these adventures. My grandmother suffered from Alzheimer's right up to her death and it robbed her of the final years of her life. I am delighted and humbled to be supporting the work of the Alzheimer's Society with this project and hope it goes some way to highlighting the ceaseless hard work of this valuable organisation. '

It's a fantastic fundraising challenge and we wish Nick all the best in his efforts and salute him for his bravery in undertaking some 'interesting' challenges!
