'From hospital to home: A guide for older people'

Published 13 November 2007

We'd like to know your views.

Are you aged 60 or over? Do you have dementia and have you had a stay in hospital in the last 6 months? Or, do you care for someone with dementia, aged 60 or over, who has had a stay in hospital in the last 6 months? If your answer is 'yes', and you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, then you might be able to help us.

A booklet, "From hospital to home - a guide for older people" has been produced by the Social Care Institute for Excellent (SCIE).

SCIE has asked The Alzheimer's Society to find out if the booklet is useful and appropriate for older people with dementia and their carers.

So, we would like to recruit people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to read the booklet and then either:

  • Attend a group discussion in your area (in August or September)

OR

  • Participate in a telephone interview (in August or September)

We hope that around 20 people in total will take part and give us their views and comments on the booklet and the important issue of going into and leaving hospital.
