The Harlequin Shopping Centre played host to the Watford & Dacorum Memory Walk Launch on Tuesday 6 July.
Almost 200 people visited the Memory Walk stand to find out more about the Memory Walk event, which is due to take place on Sunday 19 September at Cassiobury Park.
Elaine Feast, Support Services Manager for Alzheimer's Society in Watford said:
'I'm delighted that we chose the Harlequin in Watford to launch our Memory Walk event and I'm hoping that the Watford & Dacorum Memory Walk will be even bigger than last year.'
Last year the Watford Memory Walk raised £10,000 and the Dacorum event made £6,000. This year's joint Watford & Dacorum Memory Walk is hoping to attract at least 250 walkers, raise even more money and hopefully help set up a local 'Singing for the Brain' group.
Sadie Hubbard, Memory Walk Coordinator said:
'I lost my father to dementia and my family really appreciated the help and guidance that we received from Alzheimer's Society. Through my role as a volunteer for Memory Walk, I'm able to ensure that other families can benefit from the great support that the charity can provide.'
