Celebrity runners join the crowd at Bupa London 10,000

Alzheimer’s Society supporters Chris Beardshaw and Jamie Darling crossed the finishing line together at the Bupa London 10,000 Run recording a spectacular run time of 40 minutes 29 seconds.
Celebrity TV gardener Chris, seen on BBC 2 last week at the Chelsea Flower Show, usually goes running with his dog. Clearly delighted with his time, Chris said, 'I've had a fantastic day and would love to do another run for Alzheimer's Society. The run was quite a challenge at times, but we had marvellous support along the route and knowing it's for a good cause keeps you going.'
Chris's new 'running partner', Animal Hospital presenter Jamie Darling, said he sped up when he saw one of the female celebrity runners pulling ahead of him. Jamie said,
'I felt quite competitive and started to chase after her - then I realised it was (World Champion long distance runner) Liz McColgan and thought maybe she might have the edge over me! I'm thrilled with our time though and hope that Alzheimer's Society are on track to raise the funds they need for their work.'
We had approximately 300 runners take part this year and hope to raise £85,000. The Bupa London 10,000 was won by defending champion Mo Farah who set a new British record of 27 minutes and 44 seconds.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part - well done and thanks for your support!
