Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor, Maidenhead, Slough and Langley welcomed the legendary television presenter, Sir Michael Parkinson, to open their new, dynamic Memory Lane Charity Shop.
A Maidenhead resident for the past 40 years, Sir Michael recently served as the government's Dignity Ambassador and saw the disparate levels of care for the ages around the country. Sir Michael's mother died with vascular dementia aged 96.
David Jannetta, Committee Chairman, said:
'This shop will be the perfect opportunity for us to raise much needed funding for the operation of Memory Lane, our Maidenhead-based Day Support Facility and for critically-needed outreach services in the Berkshire area.
'Our services help improve the lives of those living with dementia, while providing support and much-needed respite for their carers.'
The Memory Lane Charity Shop is located at 73 High Street, Maidenhead SL6 1JX.
