How long can we make our 'virtual scarf'?

Doncaster Branch are organising a sponsored knit/crochet during Alzheimer’s awareness week. We are inviting those interested to collect sponsors and knit as many 6 inch squares as they can.
This will hopefully help to raise funds and awareness for our branch. All the squares will be made into lap blankets to donate to the elderly in the area.
We are going to keep a record of how many squares are made and calculate the length our 'virtual scarf' would be if all the squares were joined together in a line. You can check our progress on line at http://jillmc.tripod.com/sponsor1.html
