Angela Rippon teams up with Plymouth Argyle

Alzheimer's Society Ambassador, Broadcaster and Journalist, Angela Rippon will be guest of honour at the highly anticipated match between Plymouth Argyle and Blackpool on Saturday 27th March.
She will be representing Alzheimer's Society as the local Plymouth and District branch have been chosen to benefit from the proceeds of the match day collection.
Angela was born in Plymouth and started her broadcast and journalism career here. Since then she has gone on to have a success career, working in news and current affairs, spanning over 40 years.
Angela Rippon, Alzheimer's Society Ambassador, says,
'I'm delighted to be invited back to Plymouth. We hope supporters will be as generous as they can and help Plymouth and District Branch of Alzheimer's Society to raise vital funds to support people living with dementia. The local services they run such as the Memory Cafés can be a real life line to people affected by dementia and provide much needed support and information, as well as friendship.
I know only too well from my own experiences, caring for my mother Edna who had dementia, how difficult and lonely it can sometimes be.'
Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Money raised from the collection will help support people to live well with dementia in Plymouth and the surrounding area.
The Plymouth and District Branch of Alzheimer's Society provides a wide range of services for people affected by dementia including Memory Cafes and Singing for the Brain. These types of activities can be a lifeline for people living with dementia, offering support and information as well as friendship.

'We rely heavily on local fundraising to run our services and are indebted to Plymouth Argyle for their continued support. There are 3,162 people living with dementia in Plymouth and the number will continue to rise. We are committed to doing what we can to support local people with dementia to live well.'
