Daily Mail launches National Carers Awards 2010

Published 19 March 2010

Alzheimer's Society is delighted to be the beneficiary charity for this year's Daily Mail National Carers Award 2010 in association with Bupa.

The awards represent an opportunity to acknowledge and reward carers for the tremendous support they give to family and friends.

The Daily Mail National Carers Awards, in association with Bupa, include five categories: Dementia Carer, Care Home Carer/Assistant, Family Carer, Parent Carer, and Young Carer.

We need you to help us find the carers whose strength, patience, perseverance or encouragement deserves special recognition.

If you would like to nominate someone for an award, please write to the Daily Mail and tell them why your candidate should be chosen. Please provide as much information as possible about the person, including your name and contact details, and the name and all contact details of the carer.

The campaign to find the nation's most deserving carers will culminate with a luncheon and awards presentation ceremony hosted by Ruth Langsford, Society Ambassador and ITV's This morning presenter, on 11 May. The event, which will be attended by many of the Society's celebrity patrons and ambassadors, includes a drinks reception and three course lunch.  It will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, London.

Please send your nominations to: Daily Mail, National Carers Awards, Associated Newspapers Limited, 2 Derry Street, London W8 5TT.  The closing date for entries is Wednesday 7 April. www.dailymail.co.uk/carers
