Are you a budding artist? Submit your work and it could feature in our 2011 calendar

Published 3 March 2010

We want to produce a bespoke Alzheimer's Society calendar for 2011 and are looking for artists who would like to get involved and have their work featured in the calendar.

Within our previous catalogue we were fortunate enough to include a range of Christmas cards designed by the artist Rex Marsden.

Rex was diagnosed with Vascular dementia following a series of mini strokes and discovered his hidden artistic talents when he began painting as a form of therapy.

Following the success and popularity of Rex's Christmas cards, we thought that it would be a great idea to produce a calendar incorporating the artwork and photography of others who have a strong connection to dementia.

If you know anybody who would like to participate in this exciting new project, whether they are carers, enthusiastic supporters or have themselves been diagnosed with dementia, please get in touch.

What are we looking for?

We would like to receive images as either pieces of artwork or photographs.

If you could note which images go with which month: for example, maybe something Valentine's related for February, Autumnal trees for October, a winter scene for January. By no means are we expecting you to send in a whole calendar's worth of images - one or two will be more than enough.

Deadline to submit an image is 26 March 2010.

A copy of the image you wish to submit should be emailed either as a jpeg or gif Michelle.Aimers@alzheimers.org.uk

Please note:
We would prefer that you do not send hard copies of your artwork so as to minimise postal costs on their return.

If you have any further enquiries, please contact Michelle Aimers on 020 7423 3684.
