Norma Chapman cycles from London to Paris and raises a fantastic £1,500

Published 8 January 2010

Alzheimer’s Society supporter Norma Chapman recently completed a four-day cycle challenge from London to Paris in aid of the Kettering, Corby & District Carers.

Norma joined 71 other cyclists who took up the challenge and raised over £1,500 for our worthy cause close to her heart.

Speaking of the challenge Norma said:

'Taking part in this challenge was one of the best experiences of my life, embracing every emotion known, we cried, sang, laughed and ached in forgotten places. I feel so very proud to have achieved this whilst raising awareness and funds for the cause. Thank you to everybody who has supported me with raffle prizes, donations, ideas, attending functions and most of all, tolerated my incessant ramblings in preparation of the trip.'

The money raised through this cycle ride enabled the local branch to organise a Christmas Party for people with dementia and their carers in the local area.
