Co-op Funeral Directors Association raise £3000

Published 10 December 2009

Co-op Funeral Directors Association raised over £3000 at their conference held at the Hilton Hotel, Newcastle Gateshead, at the end of October.

Out-going National President of the Association, Phil Hoggarth and his wife Bobby, chose to support Alzheimer's Society due to their family connections to dementia.

Phil said;

'Both Bobby and I have been touched by the devastating effects that Alzheimer's disease can have on a family. It is not only the individual that has to deal with this life changing illness but like the ripples on a pond, Alzheimer's touches all, reaching out to the whole family, leaving its devastating effects in its wake. We both felt that we needed to bring the Alzheimer's Society to the attention of those attending the conference and perhaps to the many more that they will come into contact with in their lives.'
